IWC Ingenieur 3227

For a change of pace in a week filled with Rolex, we'd like to show you something else: the Ingenieur. The first models used a rather conservative design but IWC hired Gerald Genta to spice things up in the second half of the seventies. The result was the now iconic Ingenieur SL, a model that served as inspiration for the 3227.

This generation of Ingenieurs was (and still is..) made in quite a few different variations - AMG, chronographs, Zidane, Climate Action, 7-days and so on.. But this is the original version, no weird coops to be seen here. The size is still reasonable, whereas the newest versions tend to be a bit over the top. IWC however dropped this model from the line-up some two years ago and ever since it's been gaining popularity.

The movement in this Ingenieur is an IWC 'manufacture' which uses the Pellaton-winding system.
